Bluegrass @ Yulli’s Returns for 2015

Our favourite regular Sydney based bluesgrass night, Bluegrass @ Yulli’s, is back for 2015 and we couldn’t be more excited. The night is a unique combination of an all in, anyone welcome jam session and an intimate performance from one of the city’s finest bluegrass acts.

The first Bluegrass @ Yulli’s for 2015 will be held upstairs at Yulli’s restaurant in Surry Hills on Wednesday 18th February. The night kicks off at 6pm with the open jam session. This is one of my favourite jams in Sydney as it’s inclusive of everyone, no matter what their skill level is, but it also attracts some of the best players in the city (I’ve spotted members of Catgut, Oh Willy Dear, The Crooked Fiddle Band, The Lurkers, The Morrisons and more in amongst the jammers on a regular basis).

Then from 8pm the focus of the night shifts and a feature artist takes to the “stage” for an intimate performance. This month we’ll be lucky enough to be treated two not one, but two artist – bluegrass and country trio Stillhouse Union and old time string band The Plough. Entry is free and there’s a bunch of amazing beers on taps to keep you nice and hydrated throughout the night.
