The Heartbreaker Sessions stream train keeps rolling on with the next show taking place this Sunday 1st November. The regular Sydney alt-country and Americana night has cemented a reputation as a must-go-to event every second Sunday.

This week’s Heartbreaker Sessions features two amazing singer-songwriters – the country folk of Dan Parsons and roots singer Jason Walker.

The Heartbreaker Sessions are at Freda’s in Chippendale. The night kicks off at 6pm is 100% free – for more information check out the official Facebook invite here.

It’s been a little while since we heard from Melbourne band TinPan Orange but it looks like they’re back in a big way. After successfully crowdfunding a new album last month, TinPan Orange are set to release their brand new single “You’re Not There” this Friday.

“You’re Not There” has a wonderfully laid back 70s Americana vibe to it and will be released with four bonus tracks. Listen to “You’re Not There” and the other four tracks below:

Free New Music From The Welcome Wagon

Americana husband and wife gospel-folk duo The Welcome Wagon are currently working on a new batch of songs for their latest LP in 2016, and have decided to give a sampler away for free titled A Work of Love in Progress.

Best known as collaborators with Sufjan Stevens, this is The Welcome Wagon’s first new material since their 2012 release Precious Remedies Against Satan’s Devices.

Rhiannon Giddens Announces New EP and Bluesfest Sideshows

American trad and contemporary folk singer Rhiannon Giddens has announced plans to followup her amazing debut solo album Tomorrow Is My Turn with a five song vinyl EP Factory Girl on the 27th November (available digitally on the 11th December).

The EP is made up of material culled from the Tomorrow Is My Turn sessions and is produced by T Bone Burnett. The full track listing is here:
