how do? lovin’ your site here.. I wonder if you all might like mine. The jukebox there has almost three hours of music. I would love for you to hear it. Instrumentals and vocals both. Both electric and old school banjo… just looking for more ears… I live one hundred and ten miles from the nearest grocery.. my nearest nieghbor is two miles away… not alot of opportunities where I am at… Hope you make it… more important I hope you like it. I am pretty new at this interweb stuff, so if you like any of the music I guess you can contact me? Thanks for the ear, and the time.. -Daniel Patrick

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that I love this site. The contributors all do a great job and it’s great to be able to stay posted on some Australian artists who I enjoy and find out about new music as well. I’ve added Timber and Steel to my site’s blogroll here at Keep doing what you’re doing. Peace.

Hi folks- love your work- if any of artists are looking for gigs in Sydney they could do worse than try the venerable but funky Petersham Bowlo. Run by a singer-songwriter & a bunch of other committed volunteers, we do our best to support the local folk/roots/blues/alt country scene. Gigs are mostly Thursday, Friday nights & Sunday arvo, door deals with production supplied & no hidden costs- oh, & you get the meat raffle proceeds too. Email / Thanks for listening & good luck out there

Would like to know how I can get my music featured on your blog? Here’s one of my videos if you want to see what I’m about, I have a story to tell and I just need an outlet to show the rest of the word my talented gift Willz – Drill up and coming artist

      Hi Willz,

Timber and Steel is a blog devoted to folk and acoustic music. Good luck with your promotion!

Could I just point that as admirable a site as Timber and Steel is for rock and pop acts, there is precious little “folk” or “acoustic” here. Perhaps one in ten of these acts have an acoustic instrument buried in the mix somewhere.

We have just released the first single off our forthcoming debut album. I would be completely charmed if you guys would listen. Not really sure how to categorise it – our producer reckons it’s psychedelic folk. It’s been three years in the making and all the deets are on our website here Would love to know what you think. We are so new the work hasn’t been reviewed yet.

Hi, sent an album review request in via the email above and it came back as undeliverable, is there another email/method to submit music?

    • January 17, 2018 at 09:08

Hi Ella. Can you confirm the email you tried was ?

Huh, that’s the one, but I tried it again just now to be sure and this time I haven’t gotten any failure notice emails, so guessing it went though? Not sure what was up the first time…sorry for the bother!

The Folk Federation of NSW would like to share this, not on Facebook or Twitter or email, but in our newsletter, The Cornstalk Gazette, that comes out every two months. Could we have permission to republish, with proper acknowledgement?
