We’re really proud to be able to kick off the week with the exclusive premiere of the new video from Sydney based singer-songwriter Sam Newton, “Hold You Down”.
The track is taken from Sam Newton’s upcoming album Violet Road, due on the 16th September. If you want to get your hands on “Hold You Down” it’s available as a download when you preorder Violet Road on Bandcamp.
I’m a really big fan of “Hold You Down” – it straddles the line between alt-country and straight up folk singer-songwriter perfectly. Sam Newton has come so far as a songwriter and I reckon we’re going to see big things from him over the coming months.
Check out “Hold You Down” directed by Bryce McLellan below:

“Under African Skies” – Paul Simon
Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of Graceland. I think that’s as good an excuse as any to fall down a Paul Simon Youtube rabbit hole.
With a new album on the way (Young As The Morning Old As The Sea due on the 23rd September) it’s no surprise that we’re seeing new music emerging from Passenger. His latest track, “Anywhere”, is a lot more rock and roll than what we’d usually see from Passenger but still with his trademark story driven lyrics and catchy melodies.
Check out the video for “Anywhere” here:
