One of the best things about the music Timber and Steel covers is that it attracts an audience who really want to listen. Folk and acoustic music audiences are well known as some of the most engaged and respectful music going punters out there and it’s this audience that brand new Sydney showcase Slow Train Presents is looking to tap into.

Slow Train Presents is the brain child of local musicians Sam Newton and Cameron James Henderson and looks to connect independent Americana, folk, country and blues artists with listening audiences. The showcase nights will take place that the community-minded Village Church Annandale which will add a certain amount of intimacy to the shows.

The first Slow Train Presents is set to kick off tomorrow (Friday 1st September) and will feature Jed Rowe, Leroy Lee and the aforementioned Sam Newton – check out the official Facebook event for more information.

Jess Cornelius, the lead singer from Melbourne band Teeth & Tongue, has just released her debut solo track “Jealousy”. The stripped back single is definitely a departure from the indie-pop of Teeth & Tongue

“Jealousy is one of those hideous emotions that stops us from being able to be happy, for others and ourselves,” Jess Cornelius explained of the song. “It’s insidious and destructive, and it’s also totally human.”
