The original nu-folk band, Calexico, have this week announced plans to release a brand new album Edge of the Sun. The band are well known for blending folk, country, latin and rock influences and creating music that is distinct and unique.
Edge of the Sun is due for release on the 14th April and will feature collaborations with the likes of Sam Beam (Iron & Wine), Ben Bridwell (Band of Horses), Nick Urata (Devotchka), Carla Morrison, Gaby Moreno, Amparo Sanchez, multi-instrumentalists from the Greek band Takim, and Neko Case.
The first track from Edge of the Sun, “Cumbia de Donde”, has already been released – check it out below:
