Ex-Carolina Chocolate Drops multi-instrumentalist Dom Flemons has been doing a lot of amazing solo work recently, and it looks like it’s going to culminate in a brand new album. That album is Prospect Hill and is due on the 22nd July.

The first official single from Prospect Hill is “But They Got It Fixed Right On” which debuted online last week.

“This is a song that comes from the records of Georgia Tom Dorsey and Tampa Red,” Dom Flemons explained to Esquire Magazine. “I picked up a copy of the Yazoo Records album Come on Mama Do That Dance and was floored by this hokum masterpiece! This track features Pura Fé Crescioni on background vocals and Guy Davis playing Mike Seeger’s six-string banjo.”
