Following a super exciting first artist announcement back in June, Americana and roots festival Dashville Skyline have returned to complete the full list of artists appearing at this year’s event.

Dashville Skyline has scored a coup with the announcement of US roots singer Valerie June when she’s in the country supporting Old Crow Medicine Show. ARIA award winners Oh Mercy make a welcome return to the Dashville stage and will also be joined by local buzz band The Teskey Brothers and Irish folk guru Declan O’Rourke.

The rest of the lineup is made up of Dashville Progress Society, Demi Mitchell, Lyle Dennis Express, Magpie Diaries, Ben Leece, Nicholas Connors, Fallon Cush, Jen Mize, Paddy McHugh, Lucie Thorne and Matt Walker. That’s the full lineup in the poster above.

Held in the bushland of the Hunter Valley in New South Wales, Dashville Skyline takes place from the 29th September to the 1st October. Tickets for Dashville Skyline are on sale now – check out the official web site for more details.

Looks like it’s time to book tickets to Adelaide. The Adelaide Guitar Festival has this year announced a killer lineup that could well be its best ever with plenty for Timber and Steel fans to enjoy.

American banjo maestros Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn have been announced as co-headliners along with progressive bluegrassers Punch Brothers. That alone should be enough to get you down south but the lineup has plenty more to offer with 18 international acts, 66 national artists and almost 200 local musicians including Daniel Champagne, Genevieve Chadwick, Matt Walker, Slava Grigoryan, The Panics, Dr Zane Banks (The Morrisons, Cruisin’ Deuces) and many more.

The Adelaide Guitar Festival takes place from the 11th to 14th August. For more information check out the official site here.

“Roving Gambler” – The Stanley Brothers

This song has crossed my desk twice this week. First of all it appears on the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack courtesy of The Downhill Strugglers and then again as part of the Billie Joe and Norah album of Americana covers Foreverly. Listen to this classic version from The Stanley Brothers.
