Port Fairy Folk Festival Announces Women Out Loud 2018 Lineup

As we get closer to next year’s Port Fairy Folk Festival the lineup continues to grow, with this year’s Women Out Loud 2018 concert announced.

The Women Out Loud 2018 concert will take place on the 11th March and will be hosted by Sarah Carroll. The concert will feature a really exciting list of artists including Chris While & Julie Matthews, Faith Ristic, Gina Williams, Josienne Clarke, Pauline Scanlon, Rebecca Barnard, Sophie Koh and Yolanda Brown.

The Blue Mountains Music Festival Adds More Artists to 2018 Lineup

The 2018 Blue Mountains Music Festival just got a whole lot bigger with the addition of just over a dozen more artists to the lineup.

This announcement is headlined by Vicki Thorne from The Waifs and Archie Roach along with the likes of All Our Exes Live in Texas, SON (Susan O’Neill) (IRE), Steve Appel & Melanie Horsnell, Elephant Sessions (SCOT), Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse, Josienne Clarke & Ben Walker (UK), Faith i Branko (SERB), Frank Burkitt Band (NZ), Linda Mizzi, Monique Clare Duo, Charm of Finches and more.

The Blue Mountains Music Festival will is held from 16th to the 18th March in Katoomba, NSW – head over to their official site for more details and how to get your hands on tickets.

The National Folk Festival Announces 13 More Artists for 2018

The National Folk Festival once again delivers with their latest “bakers dozen” announcement of 13 more artists for 2018.

The announcement is headed up by a bunch of international talent including the American acoustic duo Ryanhood (above), Chrysoula K. & Púrpura from Greece bringing together East and West, Faith i Branko, the collaboration between Roma violinist Branko Ristic and UK accordionist Faith Ristic, high-energy, UK based bluegrass quintet Flats and Sharps and the John McSherry and Donal O’Connor Trio from Ireland.

They’re joined by an impressive contingent of local talent including Damian Howard (VIC), Miriam Lieberman (NSW), The Black Swans of Trespass (TAS), The Button Collective (NSW), Royal High Jinx (VIC), Horns of Leroy (VIC), Squeebz (VIC) and Dinosaur Time Machine.

First Artist Announcement for the Port Fairy Folk Festival 2018

With early bird tickets just about to go on sale for the 2018 Port Fairy Folk Festival, Victoria’s premiere folk even have just released a huge swathe of artists for first announcement.

Firstly the Port Fairy Folk Festival will be showcasing two very specical performances of Exile: Songs & Tales of Irish Australia featuring performances from Troy Cassar-Daley (AUS), Declan O’Rourke (IRE), Shane Howard (AUS), Pauline Scanlon (IRE), Andy Irvine (IRE), John Spillane (IRE), Leah Flanagan (AUS), Lynnelle Moran (AUS), John McSherry (IRE) and an eight piece band of traditional musicians.

Along with the artists announced as part of Exile: Songs & Tales of Irish Australia the Port Fairy Folk Festival has also added a bunch of other performers for 2018 including Alan Kelly Gang (IRE), The Band Who Knew Too Much, Chris While & Julie Matthews (UK), Gordie MacKeeman & His Rhythm Boys (CAN), Harry Manx (CAN), Nano Stern (Chile), Rebecca Barnard, Steve Poltz (USA), The Topp Twins (NZ), The Ahern Brothers, The Brothers Comatose (USA), Faith I Branko (Serbia/UK), Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse, Jack Broadbent (UK), Mental As Anything, The Mexicans, Sophie Koh & Her Lady Choir, The Teskey Brothers and YolanDa Brown (UK).

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to full Port Fairy lineup so expect a bunch more announcements over the coming months.
