Victorian alt-folk collective The Northern Folk have just released the video for their jazzy new single “Get On”.

“The clip tells the story of a hermit frustrated with the world and going to some absurd lengths to escape it all, egged on by the band,” The Northern Folk explained. “We brainstormed the idea with director extraordinaire Callum Goodes, a housemate of some friends of ours with exactly the right amount of prop-making enthusiasm and scone-eating flair, who, together with his brother Ben (actor and owner of amazing hair), brought it to life in the sunny suburbia of Clifton Hill.”

Having already released their new single “Snow” and announcing a September tour it’s no surprise that this week Angus & Julia Stone also revealed details of a brand new album.

Also titled Snow, the new album is due to be released on the 15th September. The album follows their 2014 self titled release which was produced by Rick Rubin.

“That was the first time that we actually started writing together, in the same room, and I guess we took a leaf from that chapter into this record,” Angus Stone explained. “This time round though, every song on the record we wrote together”

Snow is self produced by the pair and was recorded in Angus Stone’s Byron Bay hinterland cottage studio.

“It was quite magical because Angus and I have never spent that much time together, just the two of us,” says Julia Stone. “There’s always at least an engineer or tour manager but the last phase of writing and recording was just eight weeks of him and me and the quiet of the land. It was a beautiful time.”
