Folk singer-songwriter Sam Buckingham has announced plans to head out on tour to support her new album The Water. Due for release this Friday 2nd June, The Water was written in hotel rooms, on top of dense jungle mountains and every conceivable place in-between over an 18 month sojourn through Latin America.

“It was a time of intense exploration and growth,” Sam Buckingham explained. “I was affected by so many people and experiences that I was quite certain they needed to be written about. I’d pick up my guitar already knowing, in a way, what I wanted to say.”

The Water is supported by Creative Partnerships Australia, through MATCH, and 10% of album sales within the first month will be donated to the Australian Marine Conservation Society.

The accompanying tour looks set to take Buckingham throughout the country and kicks off this weekend – the full list of dates are below:

Saturday 3rd June – Lismore City Hall, Lismore, NSW
Wednesday 21st June – Open Studi, Melbourne, VIC
Thursday 22nd June – Junk Bar, Brisbane, QLD
