Last year Adelaide based roots singer-songwriter The Brouhaha was forced to cancel a 36 date Australian east coast tour after suffering adrenal fatigue and burnout.
“The realities of working in the music industry force many of us to go hard or go home,” Kelly Breuer AKA The Brouhaha explained. “It’s such a privilege to get to do what we do, and it’s probably a really stupid choice but I think most of us make music because we can’t not make music, and that’s hard for a lot of our friends and families to understand. We’re not these broke, unemployed lazy people. We’re working our asses off as DIYers because financially we don’t really have another choice until the Triple J big kids decide to play nice with us – where bigger bands have a team of managers, agents, publicists, tour managers and radio rotation putting them in front of an audience, we’re doing it all ourself building a crowd one person at a time.”
After taking time out The Brouhaha has announced plans to return to the live circuit with a very special show at The Exeter Hotel in Adelaide this Friday 28th August. Joining her in support will be Caramigo and Corey Stewart. The music kicks off at 9pm and entry is free.
