It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Bon Iver and in all honesty I think most people had assumed that was it for the project. Following extensive touring off the back of the 2011 self titled album, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon seemed to take a hiatus, involving himself in a bunch of other projects and production work.

But this week Vernon confirmed that Bon Iver will return to headline the first annual Eaux Claires Music Festival in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and the show will be the start of Bon Iver’s third cycle.

“It’s the perfect platform for us to be like, this is how we’re starting this new cycle, new life of the band. It makes so much sense to start it here,” Vernon explained to Minneapolis television show KARE 11.

The full interview is on Consequence of Sound here. We can’t wait to see what the third cycle of Bon Iver looks like!
