The bluegrass albums Smoke and Foggy Highway are considered among Paul Kelly’s finest with many of the songs from them becoming Australian bluegrass standards. If you go to any bluegrass festival, gig or jam in Australia you’d likely hear versions of “Our Sunshine”, “Sydney From a 747” or “Meet Me in the Middle of the Air” belted out as readily as American songs, they have so become part of the musical zeitgeist of this country.
On Friday 27th March Sydney’s premiere folk/bluegrass/alt-country pickers The Morrisons will be taking over iconic local venue The Basement for a night celebrating the bluegrass music of Paul Kelly. The night kicks off at 7:30pm with tickets just $25.
