New Celtic Sessions at The Merton Hotel in Sydney

There’s a really interesting live music renaissance that’s happening in Sydney at the moment. So many pubs, bars and even restaurants are starting to take a chance on live music again with sessions, jams and concerts popping up everywhere. Acoustic music, and in particular folk music, is at the forefront of this renaissance, probably fueled by just how easy it is to put in small spaces.

One that we’re particularly excited about is the new Celtic session that’s popped up at The Merton Hotel on Victoria Road in Rozelle – a hop, skip and a jump from the city centre. The session takes place on Saturday afternoons from 3 to 6pm and is open to anyone who wants to join. The session this Saturday is being led by local celtic four piece Folklore (check them out below).

So if celtic folk is your thing, and you’re handy on a fiddle, banjo, bouzouki or even the spoons make sure you come down. They’re always looking for tune players so who knows – you could even become a regular!

For details of the next session keep an eye on The Merton’s facebook page here
