Whitley Returns to the Australian Music Scene

Right around the time that Timber and Steel started tapping on the internet in 2010 about folk and acoustic music one of Australia’s most promising and celebrated singer-songwriters Lawrence Greenwood, AKA Whitley, bowed out from the music scene after only a couple of albums.

Then this month Whitley’s name popped up on the Splendour in the Grass lineup and people began talking about a “comeback”. And now it seems that “comeback” (or as it’s being touted, “resurrection”) is cemented with the announcement last week of a new Whitley single, album and a run of headline shows.

The new single is “My Heart Is Not A Machine” which hit the web this week – check it out below:

“My Heart Is Not A Machine” is taken from the upcoming album Even The Stars Are A Mess which is due on the 5th July. The tour to coincide with Even The Stars Are A Mess will feature Esther Holt in support – check out the dates below:

Friday 12th July – Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane, QLD
Saturday 13th July – Jive Bar, Adelaide, SA
Thursday 18th July – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney, NSW
