If you’re getting sick of all the Mumford and Sons related articles on here of late I’m deeply sorry. Given the band played a vital part in inspiring this blog to begin with coupled with the fact that they have a new album and are about to tour the country the Mumford and Sons references are not likely to disappear anytime soon – but we promise to write about other artists as well!
To help celebrate the new album Babel the excellent folks over at Daytrotter last week unveiled their Mumford and Sons and Friends live session. Recorded at the Gentlemen of the Road stopover show in Dixon, Illinois in a local high school and on the tour bus the session also features the likes of Abigail Washburn, Ross Holmes, Nathaniel Rateliff and Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes.
This Daytrotter session is a mixture of traditionals and covers and can be listened to and downloaded (if you’re a member) here. The full track listing is below:
1. “Not With Haste”
2. “Little Birdie” – with Ross Holmes, Abigail Washburn and Nathaniel Rateliff
3. “Angel Band” – with Ross Holmes, Abigail Washburn and Nathaniel Rateliff
4. “Not In Nottingham” – with Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes.
5. “Reincarnation” with Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes.
6. “I Was Young When I Left Home” with Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes.
7. “Partner Nobody Chose” with Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes.
8. “Atlantic City” with Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes.
