The Illawarra region south of Sydney really is a hotbed of folk music thanks to the tireless efforts of the Illawarra Folk Club. Producing a myriad of festivals, concerts and events the Illawarra Folk Club would have to be one of the most active in the country and the fact that the Illawarra is spitting distance from both Sydney and Canberra means it’s easy for us city dwellers to come and soak up the action.
On Sunday 14th October the Illawarra Folk Club is presenting Folk In The Foothills, a relaxing one-day folk festival with over 15 artists and 25 concerts set in the beautiful rainforest setting of Jamberoo Valley Lodge south of Wollongong.
