As previously announced The Mumford & Sons General Store & Saloon is set to pop up in Sydney from this Friday to help launch the band’s brand new album Babel. The Mumford & Sons General Store & Saloon will be a cafe by day, whiskey bar by night and will feature streams of Babel, screenings of the Big Easy Express documentary and live music from Mumford and Sons’ “favourite locals”.

We can now reveal that the location of The Mumford & Sons General Store & Saloon will be 118 Oxford St, Darlinghurst, Sydney. The pop up bar will be in operation daily at 10am from Friday 14th September until Friday 28th September. The first live acoustic act confirmed is ex-The Middle East member, R.L. Jones on the 19th September (with more to come on Wednesday nights). And there’ll also be a Fan Launch Party on the eve of Babel‘s release (that’s the 20th September if you’re playing at home) so that’s something else to look forward to.

Make sure you get down to The Mumford & Sons General Store & Saloon in the coming weeks for your chance to revel in some Mumford and Sons goodness in the wake of their new album.

I have just returned from the city with my h ubby, Its his birthday and he loves Mumford & Sons, so off we went tonight to find a closed shop. Whats going on. I’ve read your articles above, worked his birthday around it. I’m really disappointed about your adertisement of dates.

Oh Sharon, we’re so sorry to hear that the bar was closed tonight. We’ve checked the official site (mumfordandsonsgeneralstore.com) and it looks as though they shut up shop at 6pm tonight, Friday 28th September. I hope you were able to find another venue to celebrate your hubby’s birthday!
