- Timber and Steel are proud to be presenting Don’t Think Twice acoustic Sunday evenings at the iconic Annandale Hotel in Sydney. The first show will kick off this Sunday with Piers Twomey and Zoe Elliot. Details here

- To get you in the mood for Don’t Think Twice Piers Twomey has released his brand new video for “Mountain Song”. Details here

- Patrick James finally released his brand new single “All About To Change”. James will be launching the single at a series of shows later this month presented by Timber and Steel. Details here

- UK folk artist Marcus Foster revealed two new tracks from his rumoured upcoming mini-album. Details here

- The September lineup for MoFo in Sydney has been announced featuring Ash Hansen and Little Big Wolf. Details here

- Timber and Steel will be presenting the November east coast tour from Wagons frontman Henry Wagons. Details here

- Sydney based singer-songwriter Rosie Catalano is taking the crowdfunding route to getting her next album off the ground and is touring this month and next to promote the campaign. Details here

- We have the track “Photosynthesis” taken from the Live at Wembley DVD that will be available with Frank Turner’s upcoming album Last Minutes and Lost Evenings on the 5th October. Details here

- Newtown Festival in Sydney is always a popular destination at the end of spring and their lineup of local musos can’t be beaten. The first round of artists announced for this year’s event includes The Crooked Fiddle Band, The Rescue Ships, Little Bastard, Caitlin Park, Battleships and many many more. Details here

- Martha Wainwright has recorded “Proserpina”, the last song written by her late mother Kate McGarrigle, for her upcoming album Come Home to Mama. The video for the single is an emotional one. Details here

- Bellowhead released “10,000 Miles Away”, the first single from their upcoming album Broadside. The video for the track features the Oxfordshire countryside, pirates and a food fight. Details here

- Neil Young has announced a second album in 2012 with Crazy Horse. Psychedelic Pill, an album of original material follows the folk-standards of Americana. Details here

- The Nexus 
Multicultural
 Arts
 Centre in Adelaide are presenting a series of Friday night concerts as part of the World Music Series. First up this Friday is Max Savage and the False Idols, The Bakers Digest and Carla Lippis and the Martial Hearts. Details here

- Tigertown released their brand new single “Morning Has Finally Come” off their forthcoming EP Before The Morning and we have it streaming. Details here

- Sydney will see the arrival of The Mumford & Sons General Store & Saloon pop up bar next week to help launch the new Mumford and Sons album Babel. Details are scant at the moment but the venue will feature streams of the album, screenings of the Big Easy Express film and live music. Details (so far) here

- In other Mumford and Sons news the band has announce plans to release the video for their new single “I Will Wait” next week. In the lead up they have produced three teaser videos titled “Road to Red Rocks”. Details here

- Check out “Like A House Needs A Door”, the quirky first single from Sarah Humphreys’ upcoming album Hello. Details here

- The new single from Charles Jenkins, “Pray My Dear Daughter”, might just have the best opening lines of any folk song this year. Details here

- While the new Beth Orton single “Magpie” hit the internet a couple of weeks ago we’ve only now been treated to the song’s artistic new video. Details here

- The Tiger and Me will be showcasing material from their upcoming album The Drifter’s Dawn at a one off Timber and Steel presented gig at The Workers Club in Melbourne this month. We have their first video from the album “Pantomime”. Details here

“Banjolin Song/Awake My Soul” – Mumford and Sons feat. Johnny Flynn

Can you believe we’re 2 weeks out from the new Mumford and Sons album? This has of course made us nostalgic for their older music including the wonderful “Banjolin Song” which has only ever appeared on their early EPs. Check out this live version (including a French version of “Awake My Soul”) with the wonderful Johnny Flynn guesting on fiddle.
