Crowdfunding is fast becoming the way for many independent musicians to finance their dream projects – albums, tours, overseas trips – with so many of our favourite artists taking the fan-funded route including Emmy The Great, The Falls and Vorn Doolette.
The latest artist to go down the crowdfunding route is Sydney singer-songwriter Rosie Catalano who is looking to put together her new album to be released in 2013. But rather than just sit back and wait for the donations to roll in Catalano is hitting the road to promote the campaign with a series of shows in Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne.
Rosie Catalano’s crowdfunding campaign began yesterday via Pozible with rewards to supporters including pre-release copies of the album, homemade scones, an exclusive backer-only concert and even a VIP pass to the studio during recording. To contribute head over to Rosie Catalano’s Pozible site here.
