If you want proof of just how diverse and eclectic music that falls under the “folk” umbrella just look at the Fleurieu Folk Festival lineup. At one end of the scale they have legendary Scottish-Australian singer songwriter Eric Bogle and at the other is Victoria folk punkers The Go Set (above) – and there’s a myriad of artists in between.
The Fleurieu Folk Festival is the event on the South Australian folk calander and it’s easy to see why. Held this year from the 26th to 28th October in Willunga, SA the lineup also boasts interstate acts such as Senor Cabrales (NSW), The Stetson Family (Vic), The Blue Mosquitoes (Tas), Rhiannon and Monique (QLD), Barry Skipsey (NT) and Junior Bowles (WA) as well as favourite locals like The Timbers, Cal Williams Jr, Goldstein, Country Express, Halfway to Forth, Jay Hoad and Yellow Blue Bus.
Tickets start from just $45 for the entire weekend. For more information check out the official site here.
