Late last week ABC Music announced the creation of their new imprint FOUR | FOUR which provides “a specialised environment for some of the more left-of-centre acts” (read more about the imprint here). And their first signing? Sydney’s very own celtic-folk-punks The Rumjacks.
The Rumjacks have revealed that they will be releasing their second album through the label, the first single of which “Crosses For Eyes” has just hit the web with this nifty video:
The album is due out “later this year” but to celebrate the release of “Crosses For Eyes” The Rumjacks are hitting the road in March for a mini St Patrick’s Day tour. Full dates are below:
Thursday 15th March – The Joynt, Brisbane
Friday 16th March – Baroque Bar, Katoomba
Saturday 17th March – The Sandringham Hotel, Newtown
Sunday 18th March – Cherry Bar, Melbourne
And finally we have one last Rumjacks related treat for you. The B Side for the “Crosses For Eyes” single is one of my favourite Scottish ballads, “Wild Mountain Thyme”, and the boys have been kind enough to stream the audio on Youtube (below). Just keep in mind that this is not your Grandfathers “Wild Mountain Thyme”:
