William Fitzsimmons is one of those artists that can play around with the “acoustic music” genre to the extent that sometimes you feel like he’s just messing with you. Out of all the artists in the last few years that have attempted to blend acoustic music with electronica, William Fitzsimmons‘ stuff has been amongst the most effortlessly successful. Although hinting at artists like The Postal Service and Electric President, Fitzsimmons has stayed true to his brand of sonically explored and softly spoken acoustic pop song.
Disregarding last year’s release of re-worked songs Derivatives, Gold In The Shadow is set to be Fitzsimmons’ first (proper) album since 2008. His popularity in America has been ensured by constant TV soundtrack inclusions in popular programs, which perhaps under-sells the quality of his music. 2 songs from the new album are available for listening below. You can also buy the album pre-sale through the website. The album will be released worldwide between the 21st and 25th of March. The track listing is as follows:
1. The Tide Pulls From The Moon
2. Beautiful Girl
3. The Winter From Her Leaving
4. Fade And Then Return
5. Psychastenia
6. Bird Of Winter Prey
7. Let You Break (feat. Leigh Nash)
8. Wounded Head
9. Lied To Me
10. What Hold
